Adding Value to What You Do
Many young people in Southern Countries have no chance to further their education in a formal setting. Either facilties are too few or opportunties too costly. SEMEA tries to support the extension of existing skills through the arts through shared experience.
Most societies grow through diversity, creativity and extension of the skill base. This is best achieved through the development of community space at a local level. SEMEA tries to support artists at greatest disadvantage or to use arts as a means of self improvement. Even when students are able the bottleneck and costs of higher education prevent many from continuing to study. the arts in informal settings can transform lives.
There may no longer be a Third World but rather a world of disadvantage within countries that can be found in all communities. SEMEA offers a process of enrichment and growth because knowledge is power.
