Zambuko Izibuko Cultural Crossings Artists for Africa Challenge

Zambuko/Izibuko means a ford or river crossing in Shona and Ndebele Zimbabwe's majority languages alongside English. The event takes its name from Harare;s inspirational theatre company Zambuko/Izibuko which did so much in the 1980s and early 1990s to raise awareness of the political issues in the frontline states. Some of its founding members are in Harare others are scattered across the world and some are sowing seeds in Sheffield.
